Not much is remembered of who Betelgeuse was before the events of the story.
She is now seen as a protective parental figure, mother to all the children in the beast village they've since named after her.
She hasn't been seen around too much lately, hiding away and sleeping in an underground cave where she can be visited if needed.
It is assumed with complete confidence that if danger passed through the protective barrier, then she would come out and protect her children, though such an event has never happened.

Many tales of her heroic deeds circulate around the village in her absence.

Her specialties lie in poison damage, and defensive and protective spells, usually using her stinger and represented by her wings respectively.
She seems to have sunk into a depressive state, and the more she lies in waiting the more the beast curse she's been afflicted with is taking a hold on her.
Her dream zone features an emptied mansion from the Moon Clan under a clear night sky, a place once familiar and homey.
Her soul colour is pale blue, and her birthmark is the Moon Clan's mark and usually hidden but located on her forehead.
